Here, you can browse a list of helpful frequently asked questions that don't fit anywhere else. If you have a question that does not exist in this list or would like a topic expanded on, please send us your question to: feedback@slawdog.com

Q: I minimized DOJO, the program disappeared, and I can't get it back even after I reboot. How do I get the interface back?

A: This happens to some users every once in awhile. To fix this, open shini.ini with either explorer or the panic button and change the x= and y= entries under the [window] group.

Q: My MPEGs won't play since I don't have Windows Media installed. Can I still play them?

A: Absolutely. Just open shini.ini and set the entry "usemciformpeg" to "1"

Q: What files are officially supported in DOJO?

A: We need you to test formats and see! Currently, the open filter will attempt to read the following files:

MP2, MP3, MOD, MO3, MTM, XM, IT, S3M, MIDI, WAV, AU, AIFF, SND, WMA

DAT, MPEG, MOV, AVI, ASF, WMV, IVF, FLIC, SWF

M3U, PLS, ZIP

GIF, JPEG, BMP, RLE, LBM, IFF, DIB, PCX

If the files do not pass the filter, you may try to drag and drop to bypass it. We cannot guarantee DOJO will know what to do with the file, however.

Q: My songs don't show up when I try to find them in the open dialog. What am I doing wrong?

A: You may have clicked on the "Load" button instead of the . The "Load" button can only find playlist files.

Q: How do I bring up the DOJO menu?

A: By clicking on the icon in the top-left corner of DOJO (the picture of Slawdog by default).

Q: What are the specifics behind MP3 playback?

A: DOJO plays back any MPEG Layer 1-3 formats, which are perfectly legal by the way, depending on if they contain copyrighted information. MP3's may be streamed (played while being downloaded) or may even be downloaded right off of DOJO by typing in the URL for the file in the Open Dialog Box.

Q: Why won't my ASF's or WMA's play?

A: Microsoft Windows Media Audio must be installed on your system in order for these formats to be supported. To get WMA, you must download Windows Media Player 7 or higher from Microsoft's web site.

Q: Where is the DARC format?

A: The DARC format has been removed for safety reasons.

Q: What are MOD files?

A: MOD files, or modules, along with XM, IT, MTM, and S3M are music tracks formats that have been popular since the Late 80's. They work much like General MIDI files, only they store the instruments with the file, so it sounds exactly the same on any computer without differing from sequencer to sequencer. The proprietary MO3 format compresses the instruments in modules to allow a smaller file size.

Q: What can I do to speed up processing in DOJO?

A: Turning off the turntable when not in use is often a good idea, and turning visuals off usually saves processing. Also, whenever DOJO is minimized into the system tray, it will perform at minimum processing.
