This topic contains a list of known issues which were gathered as a result feedback collected over a period of time by our support team.

NOTE: Known issues were discovered on software and platforms with versions mentioned. However, they may be discovered in later or previous versions. If you discover any of these issues on other software or on a different version, send us feedback so we may update the list.

"System has recovered from serious error" message always appears on start up after the computer was turned off or rebooted.

This bug is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q317277. Run Widows Update service to locate the appropriate patch, which was released by Microsoft.

Turn off, reboot, log off, hang up Internet connection features do not work when AOL v7.0 is used and the user is online. User receives "Are you sure you want to sign off?" screen with "Are you sure you want to disconnect from AOL ..." message.

Use of the "Forced execution (Fast Shutdown)" feature allows the use of turn off, reboot, and log off features.

Microsoft Office XP applications do not allow to turn off, reboot, log off. Outlook asks to close Office XP applications before shutting down. Excel, Word, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Visio, Producer display confirmation dialog telling that there is a modified document loaded which was not saved.

Use of "Forced execution (Fast Shutdown)" feature does not warn Office XP applications about initiated shutdown. Any changes to   loaded documents which were not saved by the user will be discarded.

Turn off, reboot, and log off features do not work when ICQ 2001 displays "Can't establish connection. Check your Internet connection and reconnect ICQ." dialog. After initiation of features mentioned above "Can't shut down computer. Please close all open ICQ dialogs" message is displayed.

Use of "Forced execution (Fast Shutdown)" feature eliminates this problem.

Turn off feature does not work on some computers if a password-protected screen saver is activated.

No solution at this time

Hang up Internet connection feature does not work on some computers running Windows XP.

No solution at this time.  However reading Hang Up Properties dialog documentation may eliminate this problem.
