| Introduction |
| At Slawdog, a constant concern of ours is what you think of our company and products. Many years ago, applications were nothing more than solid blocks of logic. However, the situation has changed and we now find companies moving towards designing products which have rich integration with the Worldwide Web and Web services. Nearly every modern program uses components which were developed by third party software vendors. These tendencies cause numerous problems. The problem of privacy is much more urgent now, and downloading programs from the web exposes new security holes. Many are typically unsure if their system is indeed safe and if their information stays private when they download, install, and use software obtained from the web. With our collective experience in software development and distribution though the web, and by searching for a solution in this direction, we have developed the Slawdog Trusted Software Policy.

| The Policy |
| User must have access to formal information that describes approach of software license (e.g. freeware, shareware, and ad-ware) and description of functional or time limitations, expiration periods, attached advertisements, etc. Users must be informed about any third party components that Slawdog’s software may contain. Users must have access to information that describes the purpose and role of all third party components. If Slawdog’s software can be used without third party components, user must have an option not to install such components. No data may be transmitted from users system silently (if user has not initiated this process in a way, formally presented) unless user permits so. User must be informed of what data requires transmission from his or her system and, if possible, has ability to omit it. If Slawdog’s software provides access to web content and/or web services (collectively "remote services"), such access may not be done silently (if user has not initiated this process in a way, formally presented) unless user permits so. If possible, user should be informed about conditions of providing remote services and/or content that may be delivered to users system as a result of the access to such remote services (e.g. advertisements).

| Trusted Software |
| Any of our software that meets all statements in this policy is called "Trusted Software". Trusted Software on our website may be easily determined in that it will carry the following logo on its home page. If you see that software is trusted, you know exactly what you should expect by downloading, installing and using it. You can also be sure that our developers paid tremendous attention to the privacy of the information on your computer. Summarizing the information above, the concept of Trusted Software opens a new era in developing software for the Internet in which users may once again trust the developers.
